During the tough economic times of 2002, the thought of not having a
steady income unnerved just about everyone. People were desperately
clinging to their jobs, limiting risks they may have otherwise taken
during a normal economic climate. However, these turbulent times did
not faze Betsy L. Helgager.
With more than 12 years experience, and after a self-prescribed two-month
hiatus from the industry, she gave in to her passion and desire to practice
her craft, created her own brand, and formed BLH
Consulting, Inc. in 2002.
Initially, BLH specialized
in reaching the African-American consumer. However, having seen how
closely the African-American and Hispanic marketing arms and communications
programs are aligned within companies, it only made sense for BLH
